Only one day left on the trek. And after today, kinda ok with that. Today was a brutal day that featured a gain of just over a mile in elevation in crazy humidity. Tomorrow is a hike up to a viewpoint for a hopefully clear view of the Annapurna range and then a hike down to a bus stop and then to Pokhara.
We crossed the pass a few days ago with 6 people in a group. We lost the two Israelis to their new year, they took a flight the day after the pass. We lost a Canadian girl to a stomach bug that defeated her antibiotics the next day. And two days ago we lost a British guy after he developed his 22nd blister on his feet. He pushed through the first 21, but the 22nd got him. Now it is down to just Nic and myself. He has a definite end date because of his flight back and his pace was a bit faster than I was planning, but only by a day. So I have been keeping pace with him and it will save me a day later in the trip.
For now, one more night and one more chance to get a snickers roll.
Lots of clouds the last few days. Not too many good views and the valley has been very similar to the start of the trek.
